New Light Nepal is committed to operating with love, confidentiality, integrity, discipleship, partnership, humility, and transparency.
New Light Nepal believes that only salvation in Jesus Christ can bring genuine love to these daughters. “Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart” (1 Peter 1:22 ESV).
New Light Nepal is committed to protecting, respecting and maintaining the privacy of the children we work with. “It is the glory of God to conceal things, but the glory of kings is to search things out.” (Proverbs 25:2 ESV)
New Light Nepal will maintain correspondence between theory and practice. New Light Nepal’s staff value living out their belief in the word of God through their everyday lives.
New Light Nepal’s staff seek to live lives that are rooted in the holiness of the gospel, so that they may be an example to the surrounding community. We maintain a strong focus on the Word of God, so that the work we do will never be in vain. “Holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.” (Philippians 2:16 ESV) “So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11 ESV)
New Light Nepal operates under the authority and headship of local churches. We are only the workers of God’s field, and it is He who changes people’s hearts. New Light Nepal seeks to partner with all of God’s workers. “What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.” (1 Corinthians 3:5-9 ESV)
New Light Nepal values servant leadership, living a simple lifestyle, and maintaining low-cost facilities. Our staff live humble lives, because as Jesus came to serve, NLN is also here to serve the women and children of Nepal. “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45 ESV)
New Light Nepal will have transparency and honesty in our finances, because the love of money is the root of all evil. “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.” (1 Timothy 6:10 ESV)
